SBS changes signal distribution

SBS Broadcasting changes signal distribution

December 2009. Starting from January 1st next year, SBS Broadcasting changes their signal distribution for their channels SBS 6, Net 5 and Jetix/Veronica to the Direct to Home distributors (cable, satellite, DVB-T, DSL and FttH operators).

From this date SBS Broadcasting will make their signals available in the Media Gateway in Hilversum and TeleCity2 in Amsterdam. Both in ASI and IP (ASI over IP) formats. These locations will be connected with the SBS facilities in Amsterdam through a redundant fiber ring.

After supplying SBS Broadcasting with their own encoding platform for HD and SD earlier this year (please see below), Divitel supplied multiplexing equipment for the two locations that enable SBS Broadcasting to deliver individual program bouquets to the various operators. Now Divitel can be helpful when it comes to the complete interface.

Divitel delivers next generation DVB platform to SBS

September 2009. SBS Broadcasting, the Dutch division of the SBS/ProSiebenSat.1 has upgraded its content playout platform to handle and distribute high-definition TV. Divitel provided SD/HD compression for distribution. This means a next step in the upgrade of the facility’s multichannel playout area to HD.
