Divitel selected for building ZDF compression & play-out centre
December 9th 2010, Divitel, an independent systems integrator and digital video solutions provider from the Netherlands, announces that German public broadcaster ZDF has selected the company to build its new multi-channel compression and play-out centre.
The new facility will enable ZDF to simultaneously stream a significant number of SD (standard definition) and HD (high definition) channels to all available platforms, including digital terrestrial broadcasting (DVB-T) as well as to satellite DTH, cable and IPTV platforms.
The compression and play-out centre will replace the current system and will enable ZDF to meet future demands. The facility can be expanded to handle more digital channels, both SD and HD.
Divitel was selected after ZDF issued a tender at the beginning of 2010 and after an intensive selection process during the past year.

This command is a nice start for Divitel in Germany, who have just established a new office in Hannover, headed by Dirk Jaeger and Bart Brusse. Jaeger is Managing Director (Geschäftsführer) of the office alongside his position as Chief Technological Officer (CTO) of Divitel. Brusse is Managing Director (Geschäftsführer) of the German office and responsible for marketing and new business development.
